  2. Cross.
    The girls of the house go and gather fresh rushes. When they come to the door they have to be invited in then they make the cross. Then they drink tea and eat pancakes. They hand the cross from the roof in the outhouse to bring in the blessing of St Brigid
    Girdle
    Someone gets rushes and they make the girdle. They have to make three crosses on it.
