  1. A Fairy Story
    There is a certain fort in this district called Ballymorris Fort. It is on Mr. O'Gormans land. One day as Mr O'Gorman was driving the cows home past the fort, one cow went into the fort and stood in the middle of it and when she came out she was milked. This happened every evening but no one was seen milking her in the fort. There was an old man in the place and also a young girl was very inquisitive so she said she would go and watch the cow to see who was milking her but the old man advised her not to. She did not listen to his advise and stole off one evening. She came to the for t but as soon as she looked at the cow she was made blind. Danes are supposed to have built it as a dwelling. Long ago it was surrounded by a strong mud fence but now it is surrounded by with thorn trees. It is said
