- My home district is Petestown and parish is Cooley and its barony is Dundalk.
There are three families in our townland. the apporpimate number is fifteen. The family names are "Grills Armstrong and Murphy".
Grills and Armstrong are not common names but Murphy is a very common name.
Two of the houses are slated but Armstrongs house is thatched.
It is that long ago a man lived there named Peter and he owned most of the land, and that is how our townland got its name. Long ago the old people that lived in this townland could tell stories but they could not tell any in Irish. In former times there were a lot more houses in this townland then there are in it now. The ruins of these old houses are all build into sheds.
