  1. There were no schools long ago, as the teachers were not allowed to teach in them so they used to teach in the open air or in farmers' houses.
    One teacher I heard of is Mr. Reilly, who lived in Tullaghanstown. He used to teach in a house belonging to a man named Patrick Heagerty.
