There was a crock of gold hidden in a rath near my house.

There was a crock of gold hidden in a rath near my house. This gold was hidden by a man named James Neurphy. One night we saw a green light where this gold was hidden and after a little while we heard noise something like the noise of shovels and we went out and we saw two men digging. We went in then and we went to bed. When we arose in the morning we went out into this rath and we saw a big deep hole down in the ground and there was nothing down in this hole. It was believed that when the men went home they hid the gold in an out house and when they arose in the morning they went to the out house but the gold was stolen.
