- From Mulmintra to Brownscastle an old road winds, through the valley.
It is now almost over grown but long ago it was a mainroad. The people used to have to cross the river and one man lost his life one night crossing it. Near Brownscastle another old road joins it, this one comes from "Cloc Coillte." - Poll and Nancy Hogani
In Adamstown of I renown there is no church or steeple
In every door there stands a fool abusing decent people
Nancy Hogan bought a pig and wasn't it a mighty wonder
For Poll she bought another one you scarcely know them on a Sundayii
Two blackguards coming home one night they saw those pigs out feeding
Took out their knives cut off their tails and left them standind bleeding
Poll she brought those two blackguards before the judge and jury
