  2. In the penal times there was a mass rock over in "Carriucknaveadan" and a priest was killed on the side of the hill facing "Lattagloghan" Mill in a field belonging to Own Sheridan. The priests name was Dowd this family gave many priests to the church during their times. Mass was sometimes said in an old "Mill" in Drumnaveigh that is now out of use. There was a priest hunted into Stravicnabo but he escaped Stravicnabo extended only as far as "McHughs forge" the lower end of it was called Curranan. In 1829 was Emancipation before that time there were no bells in the chapels.
