  1. The Old people would gather strong rushes and bring home and peel all to one thin Strip Then they would dip them in resin that would be melted in a gresset. It is a nettle vessel in the shape of a basket. They used to get mostly sally rods or hazel rods They had a wooden frame with holes in it In those holes they would put the stronger rods standing and then work the finer ones in and out in the shape they wanted
