  1. My father sets about two acres of potatoes every spring. First the ground is ploughed into ridges with an iron plough. Then the ridges are harrow and manure is spread on the ridges. Then the potatoes are cut into splits and dropped in rows on the ridges putting three splits on each row. Then these splits are covered with clay. In about a month they are mouled again. Then in June or July they are sprayed with bluestone and soda, and after that they are wed, and
