Once upon a time there was a man and he was very forgetful. One day he went to the fair of Ballyjamesduff, bringing his horse and cart with him He left the horse and cart in a yard, he met with some companions and spent some time with them, they arranged to be home together On his way down his own lane he began to think he forgot something, so when he came to his own gate his wife came running out saying, "Oh Johny where is the horse and cart.- This is a true story that happened some years ago.
There was a fisherman that used to travel through the local towns and the county selling fresh herrings with a horse and spring-van. He usually came on a Thursday evening and as he would pass the houses he would shout(continues on next page)
