of Virginia was held in a field at the back of the Protestant Church. The original fair green was acquired by the Protestant Church body, but the landlord transferred the fair to a plot of ground which the handball court now stands on. But strange to say the people never availed of the ground and they put their stock on the main street instead. It is said that at one time a fair was held in Murmod due to an epedimic in the town of some sort.
