  1. An old man from the village, told me a story, he said when he was young he was very fond of card playing, and would stay until all hours of the night in a neighbour's house playing cards, and he said he was never afraid of any kind of a ghost.
    This night he was made afraid anyhow, as he was coming along a lonely part of the road, a big black dog jumped out across the road, and twisted around his feet, and he was not able to stir a hand or a foot, he said he managed
