    There are a lot of old customs for that night. One of the customs is to tie an apple to a string and tie it on to the clothes line. Then they try to take a bite of it without catching it. The put a shilling down in a bath of water and the children has to dive for it and to take it up with their tongue. They get three plates and they put clean water in one and clay in another and a ring in another. Then turn the childs
