  1. I often heard my mother telling when they lived out in Ballyheaphy (near araglin) in the bad times, about a family named Connollys that lived there.
    They were hungry and badly off, but they were too proud to let on to anyone that they were hungry.
    I heard my mother saying that they were out in the field wan evening working; and they saw a man, and a young fellow with him, coming across the mountain. 'Twas dusk at the time. When he came up near 'em they noticed he had a big bundle on his back.
    Me mother knew the man well. "Yerra Scannallaigh" says the, "cá bfhuil tú 'dul agus cad rá annsinn agat?"
    "Tá sí féin agam, agus táim á tabhair go dtí Mocallop" His wife was dead
