  1. Some years ago on November's night, a lot of girls gathered together in one house, to play tricks as it was the custom.
    At twelve oclock the girl of the house went to the well for water. Her mother asked her if she would be afraid, and if so to bring one of the girls with her. The girls said she would not, because the moon was shining very brightly. She went off to the well alone. As she reached the well, she slipped and fell, this was very unlucky, as it was the month the spirits have power over everything. When she got up and looked around her, it seemed to her that she was in a strange place. She stooped down for the
