  1. This ballad was composed by Mr. William Weir who still resides in Drumbar.
    I
I love my dear Old Donegal where I was bred and born.
Where Eske's purple waters flow both day and night, and morn.
That lovely spot so great and grand on history's page wrote down,
Where once the great O'Donnell ruled the famed Four Master's Town.
    II
Its lovely hills so great and grand most glorious to be seen.
Be decked with roses all around the shamrock ever green.
Do charm you as you look upon the Franciscan ruins grand
Where famous scholars noted down the Annals of our Land.
