  1. (continued from previous page)
He took her home to his mother and they lived together for twelve months. He was in the same place next hallowe'en and they had great fun among themselves. He heard them coming laughing and saying amongst themselves that if the Rosses boy were there, they would give him a cure for his wife's deafness. He was invited to go away again but he refused. However they told him if he put his fingers into his wife's ears, she would hear him speak. The others went back to her father's house and at first tied the horse at the haystack. They went into the house but afterwards came out & put the horse into the stable, they had a great time until morning.
They got the horse saddled and away they set off for the Rosses again. She turned out to be a fine woman and his mother was very good to her. Soon a baby boy was born. In the end they had a family of ten.
