    when the churning is going on. He says "Good luck to the work", and then he takes a turn at the churning. It takes about half-an-hour to churn. The churn-staff is worked up and down. The way the people know the churn is done is, because there does not come any butter up on the churn-staff and it all stays in the bottom. The butter is lifted out then with "clappers" and it is washed and salted and made into prints. The buttermilk is used for baking.
