    bought twenty five years ago. The churn staff is the instrument which you churn the milk with. The people churn once every week in winter, and twice every week in summertime. It takes an hour to churn or maybe 1½ hours. They work the staff up and down. When the churning is finished, the butter is to be seen sticking to the staff. The butter is lifted off with a wooden spoon. Then the buttermilk is washed out of the butter. After that the butter is salted. The buttermilk is left in the churn, and is used for baking and feeding pigs.
