  1. A Scotchman and an Englishman were boasting how fast they could run. The Scotchman said he could go five miles in one hour and that when he would be in good cheer, he would go twice that far. The Englishman said he would keep running with the quickest train in London. Pat the Irishman was listening and he said that none of them were good runners. Pat said he knew a fellow that ran so quick, that he met himself coming back.
