Once upon a time there was a fort in a field which belonged to Mr. Quinlan, near Ballyard. A woman named Mrs. Huggard, who was working with a farmer near the place, was in the habit of coming home through the fields at night after work. One night when she was coming home after her work, a white rabbit came out of the fort, and ran around her three times. She went home that night, and next morning she was sick. The doctor was brought, but he said she had a strange disease that he knew nothing about.
In three days' time she died.
