  1. Warts:
    Mrs Byrne, Newtown, Rathangan, can cure warts by making the sign of the cross with a straw over them. Then she buries the straw under the ground, but the place must be unknown to the person with the warts.
    Another cure is to rub them with Holy Water saying, 'In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.Amen'.
    Also get a snail, rub it on the wart, and hang the insect on a bush and allow it to die.
    Forge water is said to be an excellent cure for warts, but it must be applied unknown to the smith.
    If the weed called collafoot were applied to a wart nine times to a wart it would be cured.
    If a person comes accidentally on a stone with water in it and if he suffers from warts it is said that by dipping the effected part
