  1. The Great War ended in 1918. That same year a great epedemic of flu broke out and all the members of some families were stricken down and in some districts the doctors were scarcely able to attend. In some families in this locality there were two or three deaths. It was mostly young women and young men that died, and they were all healthy and strong.
