- There were seven forges in my parish long ago, four in Kiltimagh, one in Cartoon Bawn, one in Greyfield, and one in Craggagh. Long ago the foges were thatched but now they are roofed with corrigated iron. Only one man worked in each forge. The smith used make shoes slanes, spades ploughs and mounted barrows.(continues on next page)
