    One morning at Kilmore Quay...

    he went home and came back with a rope, and put it around it. With some others that were there he tried to lift the bawk to put the rope under it, but no matter how many men tried they weren't able to move it. So he had to get a spade and dig a hole in the sand under it, and get the rope under it in that manner. By the time that they had the rope under it, it was night, so the men went home intending to come back in the morning with horses and carts and more men. The next morning all were up early and went down to the strand. But when they got there, there was no sign of the timber, it had disappeared and the rope was there around
