    harmless fellow and didn't know that it was the three rogues that were fooling him all the time. He said he had no pound, but he knew himself that it would be a good chance of making one, so he said he would make the bet. They went ahead and they asked the first man they met and he said it was twice as good to lie in bed on Sunday than go to Mass. They went on again and met another man and he said that it was the proper thing to do to lie in bed on Sunday. Poor Bill then was asked for his pound and when he had no pound to give, the robber tore the two eyes out of his head. Bill went on then and didn't know where he was going. He was stumbling over ditches and hedges until he found himself
