- Crannavilla or the Honey tree was to be found in the town-land of Coolamooneen. It was a huge ash tree, with wide-spreading branches, and cut into its trunk, was a bowl or font. It was said in olden times that this bowl was always filled with honey, and for that reason the tree was called the Honey tree. In later years however the honey was replaced by water but old people say, that if a person dipped his finger into the water, "it had a rather sticky feel, even though it looked as clear as amber"(continues on next page)
