  1. During the Famine, a Clergyman was on his way to a Sick Call at Tarmon. The Clergyman had taken his little dog with him and made a short cut through S ___'s Demesne to the house where the person lay dying.
    When passing through this demesne the clergyman met S___ who strongly objected to dogs on his demesne. Nor, was he a lover of the Catholic Religion. Accosting the Clergyman he called the Clergyman, a "Black-guard".
    On the Sunday following, this Clergyman referred to it from the pulpit- saying, "S__ called me a Black - guard - but here from the pulpit , I call him a Blackguard, and I'll stick a plaster on his back that he cannot remove."
    On the Thursday after this announcement from the pulpit S__s
