- St. Finbar was living in Guagane Barra before he went to Cork. One day he drove a serpent out of the lake and the river chased it into the sea at Cork Harbour. That river is now called The Lee.
When he was leaving Guagane such a crowd of people folled him that they stretched from Guagane to Cork. 'Tis said that he forgot a book at Guagane and that he didn't miss it until he reached Cork. He asked the man behind him and so on until the last man was told. He got the book and it was handed from one to one until it was haded to Finbar himself inside in Cork. - Tá an mhír seo ar fáil le tras-scríobh ag duine ar bith atá sásta an obair a dhéanamh.
