    About seventy years ago the people of Brendane...

    About seventy years ago the people of Brendane used to fish for flukes would goll-ucks. A goll-uck was a twig of a skeagh two or three feet long an' all the thorns war broke off except wan at the end an' this was used for a hook an' baited would a lug a kind of a worm found in the sand. A hundred of these goll-ucks used to be tied.
