  1. There is an old cherry tree, growing ni a boreen near the Castle of Ballyadams. Many people still believe that the ghost of a "White Lady" is seen under the shade of this old tree. The "lady" is supposed to have been the wife of one of the OMores, who was kidnapped by Sean-A-Pice and murdered ni the Castle. A farmer ni the locality tells the following tale: -
    I was comin from poor Paddy Whelans wake, (God rest his sowl.) one night about half past twelve o' clock. 'Twas a fine moonlight night an' the moon was shinin' through the trees ni the boreen
