There is a pot of gold to be found in the middle of Fitzgerald's lake in Turlough. A man dreamt of the gold for three nights one after the other. On the third night a woman came to him int he dream and told him not to be afraid but to go in search of the treasure. He was to go at mid-night and was to take his wife part of the way with him. There would be an eel on the gold but he was not to mind it as it would be the woman herself.
He set out and arrived at last at the place but all of a sudden the sky got and he was unable to see. However it is said that he must have got, as he got very rich afterwards.
