- An Old Story
Once there lived a man named Jady OMalley. He lived about twelve mile from the city of Galway. He and his wife lived alone, as they had no family. They used to grow a lot of barley to pay the rent of the farm. The Landlords in those days were very severe. Jady had saved up the barley to pay the rent. He had a good asscart of barley to sell He started off for the town of Galway between twelve and one oclock. The night was very bright and as he was going along the road beside a big hill called "Cnoc Má." He met a man on the road who said "Good morning" Jady", how much for the asscart of barley? Jady asked a good price and the man bought the asscart of barley. He told him to follow him. Going in by the hill he went through the gateway. The gate shut behind them and(continues on next page)
