“There was a landlord who had a herd working for him.”
(continued from previous page)he got a coffin made with rods and between every line of rods there was a layer of tar.
Near his home there was a lake he put the child into the coffin and went to this lake. He put the coffin into the water. The waves brought it on till it came to a large mill. When the miller got up next morning he went out to set the mill working, he saw this little struck up to the big wheel, and he took it into the house. He asked his wife, what did she think was in this, and she told him to take the lid off, and in doing so the saw it was a child and he was alive. They took him out and rared him up as if he was their own until he was 18 years.(continues on next page)- Informant
