- The old castle of Guesdian is situated on the top of a high hill. It is arched and stands about twenty feet high and about twenty feet wide inside. It is supposed that there is gold hidden or stored around the castle. About thirty years ago there were engineers surveying the land around it. They were using some instrument to help them survey. This instrument failed to work near the castle and they said there was gold some place near. My grand father was taking some stones from the castle walls. He found knives forks and spoons in a little press in the wall. Before that time there was an old form found in it and people thought that it looked like a crown. It is supposed that there is a lot of other valuable things hidden around it as well as gold. Before the castle was destroyed there were a lot of every valuable knives and forks found in it, and when it was destroyed all these things were buried in the ground. This was told to me by my father Thomas Tuffy.(continues on next page)
