    near the well, and the water that gathers, there is a cure for sore eyes.
    Near that river there was a great battle fought between the Irish and the Danes and as St Columcille foretold, the above mentioned river was red with blood.
    There are very high hills, some of them are about a hundred and fifty feet high, and long ago the Fenians practised rifle shooting up against the hills, so that the bullets would not be lost.
    There is also a strange looking bush called the "riding bush" and it is flat in the centre, it is like a table and the old people say that fairies riding on horses were seen there and music was heard in it also.
