- (continued from previous page)They used to bring asscarts to bring home the Christmas grog. Some people used to bring it home before the eight of December. They used to bring flour and currants and drink home. Some people who had friends in America used to wait until they used to get the cheque before they bought the christmas grog. It used to be sent to them before Christmas. It was an old custom to give every animal a heap of oats. This custom is still observed by people in my locality.
