IX At another time there was a wrestling match near Barnacarrol Church. A man from Connemara tried to wrestle with Seán-na-baincrige. Seán embraced him, but very soon he squeeze him so tightly that the man shouted to release him. He was nearly done to death. He didn't ask to try his strength

X At another time Seán with others wanted to see who was the strongest. One man caught a young foal's tail. Then they lashed the foal, but after a while the foal escaped. Seán wound the same foal's tail around his arm, stuck his two heels in through the road. They beat the foal. The foal jumped and jumped. At last it escaped but she was minus her tail. It was in Seán's hand.
    Sean-na-baincrize was John Prendergast.
