    to get some straw for him. He asked John had he the straw sold and John said that he had not. He told John to bring it down to the house and Mary his servant would give him the ten shillings for it. When he went down Mary had only seven shillings and she said she would pay him the three shillings again. A few weeks passed and John did not get the money. Some time afterwards he went into Mr. McElroy's shop and the Archdeacon happened to be there. Mr. McElroy asked him if he could say his prayers as good as he could drink porter. John said that he thought he could. He began off and said-
    "Our Father who art in Heaven
    He owed me ten and he gave me seven."
    Then the Archdeacon gave him the three shillings.
    Catherine Tynan was a poetess in my district. I do not know where she was born except thtat she lived in a house almost a mile from the town. She was married to a protestant. She converted him before he died. She died about three years ago in Dublin. She has a daughter called Pamela and she is also a poetess.
    Catherine Tynan and her husband lived for some time in Brookhill. Her husband was a magistrate and had about six hundred pounds per year. Katherine was a great favorite. When her husband died Katherine left Brookhill and went up the country to live where she died at the age of about
