There was a church built at the cross-roads long ago. It was built in a field by the side of the road. This field belongs to Mr Martin Prendergast. The people had to pay tax every Sunday to Carroll.- The village of Rockfield is situated about a mile from here. At the brink of this village there is a bog called Macáire Mór. Near this bog there is a field called “Sliabh”. No one knows the reason it was called “Sliabh” unless it was from the rough grass that is growing in it.
