Tommy Shaughnessy is the smith in Gortjordan and Edward Ryan in Knockageehe. The forges are thatched. Outside the forge there is a heap of horse shoes. In the middle of the forge there is an anvil. The bellows are in the corner. Every place inside is black. In olden times the people used had to get the smith to pull their teeth because there was no dentist in that time. The smith was supposed to have great power. When the fairies would be going along at night, the smiths would have to shoe the horses for them. Then they would be under his rule and they would have to do what he could tell them.
There is some places called after the fairies since that time.
