- My townland is called Cloondace. It is said it got its name from its nice meadows. It is a little valley situated between two hills. It is bounded by two rivers, one on the north and one on the south. It is about a half a mile long. There are eighteen houses in the village and they are all in one cluster except a few, and each family has a small farm. It was said when St. Patrick was touring the country that he knelt on some rocks which still remain to be seen with the shape of his knees on them.
