Marriages generally occur in the season of shrove, that is from small Christmas to shrove Tuesday. The months considered unlucky for marriages are May and July and the unlucky days are Friday and Saturday.
When the people used to get married long ago they had a number of customs there are a few of them carried on presently but not many.
About seventy years ago the people used to go to the Church to get married on horseback and the bride used to sit behind her husband on the horse and their used to be thirty horses sometimes(continues on next page)- Collector
