- On St. Stephen's Day the young boys go out collecting money. They have ribbons on their caps. They are called the Wren Boys. On St. Patrick's day the people wear shamrock on their coats in honour of St. Patrick. On Shrove Tuesday the young people throw salt at each other. Some people call it pancake night. On St. Brigid's night the young boys put on old clothes and they go from house to house collecting money. They have musical instruments with them and they play a tune at every house.(continues on next page)
