    husband and she usually remained with them for two or three days. The newly married couple always remained away from mass on the Sunday after their marriage and the Sunday afterwards was usually called "lá eirghe Amach".
    At her wedding the bride was supposed to wear:
    "Something old and something new, something borrowed and something blue."
    The cake was cut over the bride's head. The young girls were all anxious to get a piece to dream on. If you put wedding cake under your pillow for three nights you are sure to dream of your future husband.
