(continued from previous page)can be seen a mound of stones and it is called Stony Island and it is from this heap of stones Island got its name. The other part of Island is an old village and nothing historical is told about it.

Larganboy is my home district. It is in the Parish of Bekan, and in the Barony of Costello. There are fifty two houses in the townland and there are approximately two hundred people in the village.
