    potatoes that time like grain. The people had also to sell their grain to pay their rents and so for that reason they hadn't much food to eat only what the Government gave them. It is believed that not many people died from hunger in the district. The district was more thickly populated that time than now. No ruins are to be seen in the district concerning that Famine. The blight falls on the potato
    in the form of a heavy fog. A great plague followed the famine and people died in great numbers.
