    Killrogan. When St Patrick was in the district he appointed one of his priests to take charge of the district. This man Brogan built a little church hence the name of the town-land. Near Killrogan is the townland of Doiremacna. Remains of the wood may be seen in the bogland. St Macna had a hut in this wood.
    Some of the names in this locality are quite common throughout Ireland such as Carne mointín Crossard Crossbeg Cumer Sean Bhaile Carton Coogue
