- The night of the big wind will be remembered to the end of time. People in them days used build their houses in sandpits and in the lowest places they could find. There was one house that was built in particular with the land as high as the roof all around it. So the night of the big wind all the neighours around crawled on their hands and knees to this for safety. The[y] were there praying for the wind to cease. There was [a] family and there was one girl that was very deaf and her parents forgot to bring her with them.
