- My Great Grandfather was a weaver. The name the people had on him was "Aindrias Mharcais". The women spun the wool into thread. They brought it to him then. He hung the balls of thread to the roof. He wove it with his hands. He had poles standing up and windows for light. He had sticks for holding it. He made it into flannel pieces. The women came for it then. He also made blankets for them. He had ropes to tie the thread to the roof. The first woman that came with the thread would get it woven and the last one that came would be the last to get it woven. You could see the trace of the windows in the walls yet. He had three windows. He had four poles and he used to sit down and weave the thread. He was weaving until he died about fifty years ago.
